Unauthorized charge to my checking account, what should I do?

Author: admin  //  Category: reverse charge calls

I noticed on my checking account that there was a $300 charge from some European website through moneybookers.com.
I’ve never heard of either sites & there isn’t anyone else that has access to my account.

I know I should call my bank and ask them to reverse the charge. But should I file a police report too? The charge didn’t drain my account, but I’m really mad about this.
I want to find out who did this and for him to get proper punishment, but since the amount is so low will the cops even bother doing anything about it? It seems like they could call up the websites where the charges took place and ask where the order was shipped to, but I’m not sure they would consider it worth their time.
Thanks for the advice. Do the people that make these fraudulent charges usually get caught? I’d hate for him to steal from someone else.

It’s possible that it was posted to your account is error. But just the same, call your bank now and close the account immediately. Also put your name on fraud alert through Trans Union Fraud Dept. Their toll free # 1-800-680-7289. They’ll notify the other 2 bureaus and must be renewed every 90 days in order to keep it active. What will happen then is if someone tries to apply for credit with your info, they must notify you first before it can be processed. Better to be safe than sorry later.

My brother charged $137 to my account without my approval can i call the bank and have the charge reversed?

Author: admin  //  Category: reverse charge calls

he bought concert tickets, and did not let me know he would be purchasing them with my credit card. unfortunately he bought them online and the tickets are nonrefundable as stated in the company’s terms and conditions.

i need that money back for my bills, but i don’t want to press charges or send my brother to jail…. help please!

call the number on the back of your credit card. talk to them and tell them your card was taken without permission and you DID NOT charge that to your account. The non-refundable thing doesn’t apply if the card is wrongfully used by the wrong person without permission. Just tell it to them straight. But avoid saying it was your brother. they may keep you on the phone for a while, but they will probably call the ticket company and talk to them and confirm it. At this point they should re-credit to that card.

GOOD LUCK!

PS. do it IMMEDIATELY
